Aux. lighting that works great with the low output alternator on a PC800. Seeing as the headlight on the pc leaves a lot to be desired, ( about the output of a burning candle ), I wanted to add some extra lighting for visibility / safety. I found these. So, just for group info......

http://www.motorcycleinnovations.ca/Cre ... p/cree.htm

Easy to install. Automatically monitors for alternator output and turn themselves on. They turn themselves off about 20 seconds after you shut down the bike and alternator output stops. Took me about 30 minutes to install. Directions are sufficient and the first tool listed on the required tool list was a cold beer. Gotta love it.

looks good- they won't make toast like Stray's will -but looks like pretty good bang-for-buck lamps.

Very Nice. From what I've read Cree is the way to go.
And the "No Switch Thing" is cool. I went to a lot of trouble to install a switch that could have been avoided.
Also its one less thing to be distracted by whilst a ridin'.

Once you make the leap to aux lighting you realize just how dim the stock headlight is.
Kinda dangerous actually.....

Has anyone looked into a Mod to replace the stock bulb with LED?

I have not recently - but when I did none got good reviews.

Surely by now there some good ones. Harley Davidson has them (obviously not for the PC) and they are pretty impressive.

The CREE bulb got poor reviews on some other PC800 forums.

Try these made by Genssi:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/GENSSI-LED-Conv ... 26&vxp=mtr

http://www.amazon.com/GENSSI-5000K-Head ... ssi+h4+led

I was riding with a buddy who put them in his Concourse. What a difference! Bright white with perfect coverage. Hi and low beams worked just as well as OEM H4 bulbs. These are H4 conversions. The only potential problem (which shouldn't be for the PC800) is the extended length. These have a fan on the back to cool the LEDs and might not fit in some headlight shells.
