I'm having my 2nd childhood and really enjoying the woods. I ride fast enough to have fun, but never out of control. Takes too long to heal these days.

My PC800 won't make 200 miles. Don't know if the carbs need synchronizing, or if it's just the heavy throttle hand. I think my jetting may be too rich, because I rarely need to use the choke. That's probably part of it. I think I usually get about 42 mpg.

I used to get in the low 40's as well. The Michelin Commander II on the back pushed it into the low 50's. I found it hard to believe, but I've heard similar results from others. Right hand restraint helps.

I haven't purchased either of them but two candidates are RotoPax (well-constructed but a bit hardcore) and Touratech (designed for Zega panniers but looks to be usable standalone). Touratech will be my most likely purchase.
