I've got a PC with the passenger backrest installed. I'd like to add a small luggage rack to the back while keeping the backrest. My goal is to be able to tied down a couple of pieces of baggage (tent, sleeping bag etc) I do not want to install a topbox.

I'm aware of the Ukrainian rack that is talked about on this site.

Does anyone have any other suggestions to offer?

Thanks

At some point I will be hanging out with Stray and he's gonna start welding and I'll have a simple rack burned onto my seat rest.... till then. I have a pelican case I strap on the back seat.

See message 128329 on the Yahoo iPCRC group. It's a thing called Cat Rack, new, US production. A user over there named dallas.cats makes them. Pretty good looking rack.

I like the sleek & simple design of the Cat Rack. I have one like it on my XT225. I got it second hand for $30, which was great. Wish the Cat Rack was a bit less, but it's not a bad price.

Probably wouldn't be a difficult DIY project if you had a way to cut the metal and make the 90 degree bends. It would be simple to make a cardboard template. I've got too many DIY projects though....I'd be better off hitting the "Buy it Now" button and have it fit & finished right out of the box.

The problem with me making something like that is it would look like I made it.

I hear that. But if you were bored and decided to take a metal fabricating class at a local community college, it would be the perfect class project.

I'm going with the Cat Rack and new add ons. It looks like the best option out there and I like the look and finish.

Just got mine and it does look sleek. Went on in less than an hour.
Mine is a bit loose and makes a bit of noise when a bump, pothole, or manhole cover is encountered.

I know it sounds simple but the way it attaches to the seat requires you to simply run the grab handle bolt guides through the Cat Rack then re-attach the grab handles back on through the seat.
Seems to me the size of the holes in the rack are ever so slightly larger than the grab rail bolt guides allowing the rack to jiggle a bit on bumps.
Has anyone experienced this?
Has anyone found a fix for tightening the rack so it wont wiggle.
I might try tape around the grab rail bolt guides to reduce the tolerances.
