If your staying in the "Sport touring" catagory, yes, new offerings are not as plentiful these days.

But why buy new ? Many a great deals on bikes a dozen years old in superb condition at a fair price.

I am a fan of Moto Guzzi. Not so much BMW or sadly Ducati in this catagory. I do think just for grins to go ride a ST 1300 and a few Guzzis so you have a point of referance.
Also ride a Concourse to get the feel for the inline 4.

You allways need to remember……most "Sport touring" bikes are far more sporting ergo's than the PC.

Think of the PC as a touring bike thats kinda sporty. Unless you ride quite hard in high speed canyon type curves, the "Sport touring" bikes get old as your just loafing along on straighter, less demanding areas.

They are more a sportbike body position that wears you out on the long and less demanding sections.

I love true touring bikes like a Goldwing, yet, the weight and mass are outright dangerous in the technical curves if you get in a bit over your head.

Amazingly I still find a well set up PC to be a great compromise between the Goldwing and a potent "Sport touring" bike. A bit dated, and down on power, but makes up for those shortcomings in many other ways.

Everytime I do the math, and make a "Pro's vs Con's" list, the PC wins out………still.

Well Said!

Honda Pacific Coasts. Ya love em' or hate em'!

I have no experience with any of the euro machines but from what I've read it would appear that the Hondas are less quirky. Seems like there are always a few things in the reviews that stand out and make you say: "You gotta be kidding? Why'd they do that?" or "They coulda fixed that.......what the....?"

But I'd still be on one if I could afford it!

Nobody ever mentioned a Yamaha FJR1300. Yamaha makes good bikes. I've always thought the VFR800 was a great looking bike, but it definitely leans more towards sport.

There is an FJR in our weekly ride group. Hard guy to keep up with. Very fast.

Test rode a ducati ST4 s yesterday as my brother in law was thinking of selling his. Great value IF you love horrendously loud pipes, aching shoulders, buffeting and a loud boom in too at 60-70 mph.
I am sure that would Ho at upwards of 100 mph( allegedly gets to 160!)
My brother in law tours on his for 2 weeks each year.
He is shorter than me and maybe it suits him better. I was glad to be back on my PC after 30 minutes.!

2016 Moto Guzzi V7 II , available in Europe now, North America next year(later this year?) looking at the significant improvements on this vs the current model, including a 6th gear and ABS, plus all the accessories fairings etc that are available for it in Europe, and I'm hopeful here when it comes. This, with it's sitting position and shaft drive, has my interest.
