Hate to "saddle" ya'll with this again "butt" after a 80+ mile ride in the mtns this morning with the wife I have got to do something about the seat, she was fine my butt was burning and we stopped for lunch.
She really wants to do more riding which means I can get more gear for the bike :) that part I love but seats are expensive and take awhile unless they just happen to have a pan ' Was wondering if anyone has used Mean City Cycles in N.C. I know there is Russell, Sargent, ect. would like some opinions . Am sure there are some deep "seated "feeling's about them hoping to get to the "bottom" of them ( groans are appropriate )
And would be interested in back rests as well.
Would like to put the discomfort "behind" me for good.
Sorry have been seeing a shrink about the "puns" but she quit after the second session babbling something about word association and should have been a used car salesperson instead , I try
Thanks once again
Mike
BTW my beatiful PC got caught in the rain for 1St time according to the P.O. can we have a moment of silence please......... on the other hand I can quit obsessing over it and ride .

Yes, I have a seat by Mean City, I got memory foam with gel insert, paid about $175. They will put more layers of foam for more money. I think their prices go up to about $250. You can double (or more) that and go for a Russell Day Long. I don't think I'd give any of the others a second glance.

Mean City did a good job, the seat is reasonably comfortable. You can get an appointment and ride in for the seat job. Takes a couple of hours and they will loan their golf cart to go get a hamburger while you wait. Good people.

I did add a Butt Pad by Alaska Leather. Thinking of trying a Bead Rider.

I think the most comfort for your money lies in your choice of underwear. Moto-Skivees for about $60 are a good investment.
