Hi folks
I have a 94 PC which gave me a lot of problem with overheating this summer. In the end I stripped it down, did a radiator flow test( seemed fine) fixed the fan, replaced the fan switch and in the end removed the thermostat also( when checked in boiling water it seemed to be working but it looked really corroded and having read about catastrophic thermostat failure I decided it could do with a new one but never got around to putting it in yet!). I have also replaced the radiator cap.
It still runs hot in stop -start traffic but at least the fan keeps it in check and it hasn't boiled over even under hard use in the last couple of months.
I have been talking with a friend and we wondered if a few of the cells in the radiator core are knackered( broken- uk slang, sorry) and I am going to try to get it recored. Alternatively does anyone know if any other radiator((honda or otherwise) can be made to fit?
Also as it gets cooler what disadvantage will my absent thermostat be likely to cause( I have a new one on order but will be fitting it later in the year along with new exhaust, brake shoes and pads, braided brake and clutch lines etc)?
Thanks got your input!
