Hi,

I went ahead and ordered some Mondomoto LED lights for the ST1100 and PC800. On the ST1100 they are replacing some halogen driving lights, but for the PC800, I am not sure where best to place them.

Options:

1. On either side of front fender on forks

2. Under the front turn signals or in air intake next to front turn signals.

3 Under the front crash bar cover. My ST1100 has them down on the front forks, but I had to relocate them because on hard braking, they were interfering with turning. Glad I didn't get hurt, but the tupperware did get some scratches from hitting the lights.

Since the LED's draw so little power I am going to splice into switched wiring, using an inline fuse.

Any suggestions?

Seth, I had the same problem with fork mounted lights. Braking caused the fairing to contact the lights, causing unwanted steering inputs. Not good.

Tim Davies mounted a pair just under the headlight in the opening above the fender. They would have to be pretty small to fit there.

I have seen pics of lights hung below the mirrors, but have no idea how they were mounted.

I have a pair of highway pegs mounted to the crash bars. I've made a bracket to fit under the mounting bolt that holds the peg to the bracket. It is a large "L" bracket (4" x 4" x 3/4"), cut down to 1.5" x 1.5". I ran a dedicated circuit from a new fuse box in the trunk. They aren't separately switched, they will be on whenever the bike is running.

I haven't mounted the lights yet. I'm hoping they won't drag in tight turns.

I mounted my lights under the crash bars and have been happy. Only problem is occasionally bumping them with my foot a screwing up the aming. I will fix that with a more secure mounting. Nice thing is they don't really stand out and (for those who worry bout asthetics.....) they dont mess the PC body lines. I hope to someday mount a second set under the mirrors. Do a search and you'll find pics of mine.

They are 10 Watt Cree Lights.

They are driving spot lights, 20 degree spread. I saw the same lights on EBay for less.
